Knighthawk Armoury is now a "secured" web site. Why? I have a personal friend who is one of the top 10
Google consultants in the world, Bill Hartzer, and I am a
subscriber to his blog. Last week Bill recommended that every online business go from "HTTP" to "HTTPS".
OK, that meant a little research. So what does the "https" mean? I knew the "s" at the end stands for "secure",
but what it really means is that each web page is encrypted between the server and the browser. In my
case, I went for the basic security package, which provides 128-bit encryption.
Protons will decay before that encryption is cracked.
One more thing: If you are using FireFox as your browser, you will get one of 5 icons, not just the one yellow LOCK
icon you see in Internet Explorer or Chrome. The grey Firefox icons don't appear to be reading the SSL certificate
correctly, and if you click on any of those grey icons you get various encryption warning messages, none of which are accurate.
Click on the yellow LOCK icon in IE to verify that the website is indeed secured.

Apologies for the long wait for a new Weekly Special.
We had a huge lightning strike last Wednesday night just before 2:00 AM that sounded like a howitzer had
gone off right outside the bedroom window. Well, apparently The Fates had decided I was simply getting too comfortable because
that blast fried our alarm system, the phone, our cable service, several power boxes, and...the computer, including
the main "C" drive.
Yeah.
We just thanked God that the strike did not hit the house or either one of us. However, that meant that
all the work I had on Knighthawk Armoury, along with all of my personal files, were.... *POOF*....simply gone. .
That was the bad news.
The good news is that I have a friends who's a PC genius, and Phil helped walk me through building a new PC from scratch.
We did that and, I must say, it was pretty cool! My wife calls the new PC "Frankenstein". ☺
The OTHER good / GREAT / FABULOUS / WONDERFUL news is that my back-up software worked and I was able to restore
almost everything. I lost a total of maybe two days worth of work and changes. HALLELEUJAH!!!!!
So after 9 days of building a new PC, getting Windows re-loaded (don't start), reloading my programs and tools, getting my preferences set, and ensuring that everything is working
correctly, I am finally.... FINALLY back online.
The first order of KHA business? Update the
Weekly Special, which has been done. Enjoy!

I was interviewed at A-Kon this year because one of my Booth Babes also works with the convention staff,
and she set up the interview on Saturday - Day Two of the convention. It was actually pretty cool, the crew that showed
up took an immediate interest in the product and started playing with the various items. Then they had an idea on
the background for the interview. So...watch the interview and take note of the two guys in the background! It's
pretty funny!

- You must have a PayPal account.
- If your order total is $99 or more, you have the option to use the BILL ME LATER service offered by PayPal.

- In the PayPal site, select BILL ME LATER as your funding option.
- Enter the requested information, submit the data, then wait a few seconds to see

This weekend was AnimeFest in Dallas, and the LARP group I've been with since 1986 (yes, I'm old and decrepit),
IFGS, ran their convention game there once again. What a hoot.
This was a one hour, line course mini-game. The first team started at 10:00 pm and the last team finished the game at 4:00 am. We
were able to run two teams at a time through the course and had at least one team in game the entire night!
So what's the tie-in? I saw LOT's of our weapons at the convention, more so than in the past, and people were using
them in their Cosplay competitions, as well! Nice! :)
Naturally I was useless the next day, and my Monday wasn't much better! But FEAR NOT; I have recovered and have an
entire year to get ready to do the same thing again next year.
